This is the website of Jerry Sander, L.C.S.W.-R, psychotherapist, father, and author. It is my hope these pages encourage you to pursue your  own changes in this world.  These days we live are not a dress-rehearsal for anything; they are the thing itself. 

June 2011 marks my 25th year as a postgraduate therapist.  During these years I have been privileged to share in the lives of hundreds of teens, young adults, adults and their families in New York City, Rockland county, and -- for the last 19 years -- Orange County, New York. 

My therapy practice is open to adults, teens, couples and anyone over twelve years old.  While my expertise is adolescence, I have come to appreciate how adolescent issues resonate throughout our lives and are present in our intimate relationships, family interactions and professional work lives.  I also have extensive experience helping with issues of anxiety, depression, sexuality and intimacy.  I am happy to be restarting my Men’s Group, this April, 2011, for men who are dealing with adjustment issues, parenting or family concerns, emotional steadiness, and happiness.  It will be meet once every two weeks for an hour and a half and will cost $50/session, with a five-session commitment.  It may be reimbursable under your insurance.  I will also be starting a divorce support group, for both men and women who find themselves in the midst of divorce.
